Southampton’s hopes of signing Henry Onyekuru have been boosted somewhat after the KAS Eupen striker admitted he was ready to move to England.

He hasn’t obviously seen Claude Puel’s style of play recently so will leave this one as a ‘possible’ in light of the competition.

“That’s the advantage that Anderlecht has over Club Brugge. For the rest, they are two big clubs who have their own style of play.

Saints scouts have been over to Belgium to watch the 19-year-old hitman, who finished with 25 goals in all competitions and a remarkable 14 assists.

Everton, West Ham and Arsenal have also been linked, with reports this week claiming the Gunners were in talks to sign the Nigerian, who has a £6.8million release clause.

Anderlecht are also keen to sign the striker this summer and can offer something Southampton and Arsenal can’t – Champions League football next season.

“I know of Anderlecht’s interest since last month. Everything is possible. Anderlecht, Bruges, England… I have not decided yet,”

“I had fun in Belgium. But I always dreamed of the Premier League. I know I’m ready. I’m sure.”
